Crabby Cakes Studio offers each of our clients a free consultation to discuss your needs and wants for your order. Crabby Cakes Studio provides each consultation with a written estimate of costs to each client before starting any project, we believe in being upfront with our costs so there are no hidden surprises!
We require an email agreement or signed contract detailing the specific details and guidelines detailing your custom order. This is used to help ensure that we do not miss any specific details and requests. Once approved, a deposit of 50% of the total contract will be required before Crabby Cakes Studio beings creating custom work orders. Following receipt of your payment we’ll schedule a planning call to cover.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time Crabby Cakes Studio will accept checks, money orders or payments through PayPal.
What is included with my custom scrapbook?
The following services and materials are included in your scrapbook: initial planning call to formally cover the details of your project, acid/lignin-free paper, all embellishments including buttons, ribbons, brads, etc., adhesives, computer journaling (or spaces left for your handwritten journaling if that is your preference), and review of a few sample pages so you can check the progress of your scrapbook. Because there are so many albums out on the market, Crabby Cakes Studio offers all albums in a Navy, Black, or White album on all custom orders. Of course you can also provide your own scrapbook if you prefer. Not included: additional protective pages, and shipping.
What if I live outside of your area?
Not a problem! It's as easy to work with out-of-state clients as it is for local ones. Planning is typically done by phone and memorabilia are usually sent by mail. Crabby Cakes Studio will provide simple tips to help you prepare your mementos for shipping. Sample page reviews are done via email. Completed projects will be shipped using the UPS, we have had great success with our shipments and also provide shipment confirmation and tracking numbers on all orders. If another shipping company is preferred, the additional expense will be the responsibility of the client. All custom orders will be insuranced as well.
How long will it take you to complete my album? What if I have a deadline?
It will take approximately 3 to 6 weeks to complete a 20-page album once Crabby Cakes Studio begins working with your order, depending on the number of pages, and size of the order. All layouts and party orders take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete. All orders are a priority for Crabby Cakes Studio and we work diligently to complete all projects within this time frame. If you have a specific deadline we’ll need to know about that at the beginning of the project.
What if I’m not happy with the page layouts?
During the planning call you can reference specific scrapbook pages on our website that you like based on preference, color, technique, and layout. We will provide updates on the progress of the pages as we complete them. Crabby Cakes Studio requires any change requests be within 24 hours of the receipt of any progress emails. We will gladly work with you to make any adjustments/additions you would like. This also enables you to let us know if we are headed in the right direction or if adjustments need to be made to the design in a timely manner.
What if my memorabilia are lost, stolen, or damaged?
Crabby Cakes Studio recommends that you send duplicates of your photos in case of theft, accidental loss or damage. On the contract you sign you’ll note that Crabby Cakes Studio will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items during shipments. However, once the photos are in our possession, we will handle them with the utmost care. But, if they become damaged while in our possession, we will cover the cost of reprinting. Please keep your digital copies or photo negatives.
Can you add pages to a scrapbook once it is completed?
Absolutely! It is one of the nice things having a custom album! You can add pages to your album as more scrapbook pages are created. Naturally there’s a limit to the number of pages any scrapbook will hold, but its binder-like construction allows pages to be added or removed with little effort.
Can you make duplicate albums?
Yes. If you’d like two or more identical scrapbooks just let us know in advance so we can award you a discount on the duplicate albums. Duplicate albums make great gifts!
